Ok -- first blog post here, bear with me.
I've been dating the same guy on and off for about 7.5 years (I think we're officially called it off though -- actually I know we did -- more about that later) so I've become pretty comfortable with my wardrobe as you can imagine. Never worrying about how I look, not trying to impress anyone, you get the gist.
During a time that were "off" I met someone who wanted to take me on a date. I was in college, stuck in a crap relationship -- our idea of a date was either the bar for a beer or take out Chinese and a movie, so this was new to me. The guy I was going out with was older so he had his share of dates before, me on the other hand -- no idea what I'm doing.
Thank god I had 3 roommates at the time.
After staring at my closet for forever, and every shirt I owned ending up off the hanger and onto my bed, I finally chose jeans and a black top and thought I was good to go.
I walked out of my room with UGGs on (no joke).
"Guys, do you think this is okay?"
"No Candice, that's not okay - go put heels on - what's the matter with you?"
"Crap, okay"
-------------------------------------------------------
"Should I wear my hair up"
"Candice, seriously?"
-------------------------------------------------------
"Should I text him now?"
"No! He will be here!"
-------------------------------------------------------
You can imagine how baffled I was at this time.
I finally escaped my roommates after a full on interrogation and the "Oh my gosh, is he coming to the door. He better open the car door for you. Etc, session"
-------------------------------------------------------
We were out to a nice restaurant. Great conversation, great wine ... Everything was okay then he nodded at my shirt to tell me it was too low and my bra was hanging out.
Oh good god ... get me out of here!
What was your biggest fashion disaster while on a date?
