BettyConfidential's Question of the Week: Have you ever/would you ever get involved with a guy who has cheated?
My gut reaction is an emphatic "HELL NO!" - but, as usual, I find myself needing to take a step back to examine the question a bit more. For the purposes of this response, I am defining "get involved with" as entering into a full-fledged relationship. I am lucky that I have never had to deal with this situation, and I can only imagine how heart-wrenching it must be. I do like to believe the good in people...that they can change for the better. However, that is a HUGE risk to take. You take a chance every time you date someone because, let's face it, nothing is set in stone. However, to take that leap of faith and put your heart (and emotional sanity) in the hands of someone who already has a history of burning someone else...I don't know, it sounds like a bad business deal, for lack of another example. I know, I know...it's not always so straight-forward, there a many shades of gray, yada yada yada... All I know is that my heart is too important to risk like that, and I don't want to put myself through the drama and stress of always wondering and worrying. I deserve better, and so do you.
