Is there such a thing as happily ever after? If you had asked me this question after my divorce two years ago, I would have said, NO! We devote our lives, our bodies and our minds to being a great wife, mother and friend but sometimes in the end, happily ever after seems irrelevant. Well... atleast thats what I thought...
A year after my divorce, I truly thought life had no meaning or joy. I spent my days doing the same routine day in and day out. In fact, my days were so routine that at times I felt robotic... I was pathetic! And then one day life took me on a different journey. A path I never imagined. I'm living proof that sometimes in life you have to take chances... and with me, I was hit with a sweet, unexpected, surprise....
Meet Tony... Tony and I actually met many years ago during our junior high days. We remained friends throughout high school but after graduation, we both went our separate ways. Fast forward 21 years later...
In June of 2008, my sister introduced me to Facebook. At the time, I was against it because in my mind facebook wasn't for me. She kept encouraging me until I finally gave in. One facebook page after another and I was hooked. Immediately I found high school friends that I hadn't seen or heard from since 1987... and yes... this included Tony.
I emailed him with the intent of simply saying hello, how have you been and hope all is well. Two weeks later he replied. We got to talking about high school, kids, marriage, divorce, relationships, work... and the rest, as they say... is history.
I've been there, I've done that and I wouldn't change a thing. I have no regrets about my past because without it, I wouldn't have my children. But now I know God's plan for us is bigger than what we imagine. I truly have found my soulmate and I can't wait to see what the future holds for the both of us.
